Little girl,
Don't you know?
Monsters aren't hiding,
Under your bed.
They're underneath your skin,
Waiting in your head.
They're going to chase you,
Until you're too weak to fight.
Until you don't want to see,
What's there when you open your eyes.
It's impossible to run away,
No matter how hard you try.
Because they are all around,
Waiting to tear you apart.
They'll pull you into a world,
With nightmares they create.
Until you lose the key,
For the only way out.
But those monsters aren't here,
At least not yet.
So for now,
Little girl.
Stay asleep,
And pretend.
Don't wake up from a dream,
To only enter a nightmare.
